Adam P. Salina

Principal

Adam P. Salina has spent the last 25 years developing strong, successful working relationships with federal, state, municipal and business leaders. He is recognized for formulating strategic approaches that incorporate lobbying, public affairs and personal contacts to accomplish client objectives.

Before joining Kozak & Salina, LLC, Adam served as manager of business development and government affairs at Data-Mail, Inc., where he cultivated new client relationships, managed projects and tracked legislation that affected the direct mail industry.

Adam began his career in public service as a personal assistant, then district aide to Congressman John B. Larson. At the age of 28, Adam became one of the youngest mayors elected in the history of Connecticut. During his decade of service as Mayor of the town of Berlin (2003-2013), Adam led the resurgence in Berlin’s economic development by attracting new business to the town and working closely with state officials to secure grants and track legislation that had an impact on his community. He currently serves on the town’s Board of Education.

When Dan Malloy ran for Governor of Connecticut in 2010, Adam played an instrumental role in enlisting support and encouraging dialogue between the campaign and mayors and first selectmen from across the state. Following the election, Governor Malloy appointed Adam to serve on his gubernatorial transition team.

A graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. in psychology, Adam began his career with the National Football League in 1997 and 1998 as a free agent fullback with the Green Bay Packers. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers.

Adam is a prior recipient of the Hartford Business Journal's “40 Under Forty”, the YMCA’s Compass Award and serves as a corporator for The Hospital of Central Connecticut. He serves on the board of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain and is a member of the Berlin High School Women’s Soccer Booster Club. He lives in Berlin with his wife Danielle and daughters Olivia, Julia and Bella.
