David J. Kozak

David J. Kozak is an impact player in the government relations industry, with a proven track record of strategic and tactical successes that spans 30 years at the federal, state and local government levels.

An accomplished leader, David is known for his extensive legislative, grassroots organizing, business development, fundraising and political campaign abilities. David is also recognized for his strong working relationships with state and federal elected officials, commissioners and government agency staff. He brings a unique perspective to K&S by drawing on his many years of private and public sector experience.

Before forming K&S, David served for 10 years as director of government affairs and business development at Data-Mail, Inc., one of the nation's largest direct mail companies.

Prior to joining Data-Mail, David was senior advisor and head of the transition team to then-newly elected U.S. Representative John B. Larson of Connecticut. He was also a 15-year veteran congressional staffer and campaign strategist to U.S. Representative Barbara B. Kennelly. David served as campaign manager for the Congresswoman’s re-election campaigns, and as deputy campaign manager for her 1998 gubernatorial campaign.

David graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and English from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. He currently serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the House of Bread in Hartford, Hartford Athletic Green and Blue Foundation Board Member, and trustee to the YMCA of Greater Hartford. He resides in Rocky Hill, CT with his wife Cheryl. They have two grown sons, Stephen and Brian.
